That's better!

Yup, the counter is correct. 481. That's 8 pounds in 10 days. None too shabby!

I ran an errand first thing this morning, so I only had time for a bar. When I got back I checked my blood sugar: 115. Not shabby either - "controlled" is a good word!

So, I did some chores, then got on the treadmill. Did that for about 45 minutes - burned about 400 calories. Before my shower, I checked my sugga again for a giggle - 90! Control is good!

I've been good with food and everything.

I'm hoping to see 475 next week, but that's a lot to ask. Two weeks is good enough.

I'm so glad this is working. I want to see 400 by the end of the year!!!

There's so many changes going on in your life, you might as well change your diet. I think this is the perfect time for you to actually accomplish loosing the weight.

Feeling kind of inspired... maybe I'll try Atkins again, after all?

Once you get off pasta - you won't miss it. The pasta isn't the tasty thing in a pasta dish, is it? Nope, the meats and the sauces are the tasty things - all of which you can still have on a low carb diet. However, we're all so programmed to eat carbs, that we forget that pasta is the tasteless stuff in the middle that keeps us all sugar addicted.

A local restaurant out here has a low carb menu. I'm really eager to try their "no dough" pizza - can't imagine! However, they have a dish that sounds excellent: chicken, broccoli, mushrooms, parm, mozz and an Alfredo sauce - all low carb! Probably a little high in calories, but if you are having a treat, that's the way to go! And they deliver!

Low carb isn't for everyone and it's not the "perfect" diet. It's too easy to over do the calories and portions. And, buying the higher quality foods is more expensive - but since you are eating less ... well, it should all come out in the wash but it doesn't always feel like it does.

Any diet you can stick to will help you lose weight. I know for a fact that it's the part about sticking to it that's the hard part - I've proven that this week!

Low carb is the direction I want to go because of the diabetes issues. But, I know a lot of people are doing Weight Watchers and having success. WW has changed their diet a bit over the years. Sounds like it's gotten easier and better. The additional support you get from a group environment seems to help some as well.

Find a diet you like, stick to it and loose the weight. Pasta is optional!

Nope. Pasta isn't optional. I'm Italian... it's in my blood. Really, pasta is the tasty part to me. I like bread. Even just plain bread. Maybe low carb isn't for me?
