Third day on the treadmill at 5 AM. Excellent.
This is where this starts to get boring: shake, powdered eggs, two strips of bacon and a sausage patty - Opps! Something new there! Then lunch was a salad with turkey. Dinner was a chicken and broccoli thing Steph made. It had an Alfredo sauce and I had more salad. I snuck a few Triscuits.
I was really hungry all day. So hungry, the powdered egg product actually tasted good! Weird!

(5 AM) X 2 = :)
Two days in a row I've gotten up at 5 for the treadmill. Let's see if I can do it again tomorrow ...
Other than that, I had my shake with my meds, powdered eggs and two strips of bacon, an apple, a banana, salad with vinaigrette and turkey, some nuts and a bunless double whopper and a salad for dinner.
I so want to keep going on this. It feels right.

Mixed Results
The ticker is not incorrect.
I weigh 495 according to my scale this morning. The 490 seemed too good to be true. It seemed like a gift from the diet gods to encourage me on. Well, what the diet gods give, the little buggers can take away!
I'm not angry. I'm not giving up. I just hoped for better.
So, that was my lost battle for the day. However, I had some wins. My blood sugar is down to 326, still high but going down. Also, I got up at 5 AM and did the freekin' treadmill - BIG WIN! I'm hoping I can repeat it tomorrow.
Food was pretty simple for the day. I had a shake, powdered eggs and only two strips of bacon (I normally eat four), a salad with turkey & vinaigrette dressing for lunch, some nuts for a snack, then leftover baked chicken and bag salad with vinaigrette dressing for dinner. A good deal.
Next week's weigh in will be better. I just have to believe it will be.

Laziness
Had a somewhat lazy Sunday. Nothing wrong with that.
I got up late and as I was about to get on the treadmill, the wife requested I do a run to the store for her. So, I got to walk around in the store instead of on the treadmill. Not quite the same but still okay. The only bad thing was that I managed to not take my meds before I left.
It took forever to get through the checkout line. By the time I got home, my head was spinning from lack of food. I bought some baked chicken and salad at the store. I scarfed that down, took my meds and had a shower.
Then, I sat around and watched TV. I had some nuts and a few clementines. Exciting!
Steph went back to the store to buy dinner (yes, too many trips to the store this weekend!) She made T Bones and salad. Excellent food!
Not a bad day.
I'm off to bed here in a minute. Tomorrow is a big day for me and this diet. I want to get up and get on the treadmill. I want to take my blood sugar. I want to weigh in. All I want the scale to say is "489" - at this point I will really settle for one pound, just to justify the sacrifices I've made. It's highly possible I will have gained weight. Either way, I won't give up. I just want to see a result.
Bring on Monday! I can take it!

Market Trip
Today was made of win!
Started the day with my meds and protein shake. Did a half hour on the treadmill. All good!
Steph made a crustless quiche for breakfast. Eggs, ham, cheese, broccoli & onion - it was tasty, low carb and the right size portion.
While Steph took down the tree, I made a run to a few stores for Xmas gift exchanges and staples. I parked far off from the stores, took my time and just walked. I don't know if you'd call it a work out, but I wasn't laying on the couch eating donuts, either!
By the time I got home, I was starving. I ate about a dozen chicken wings left over from New Years.
Late tonight, Steph went out and bought me a bunless double whopper and a salad with some chicken. Probably later than I should have eaten, but the portion was about right and totally on. If eating late is the worst sin I've committed today, I'll take it!
Today is an example I should follow every Saturday. I ate right and I moved more. Excellent!

Dinner at the Casino
I did not start the day on the treadmill. Working out everyday is my goal, I'm just not there yet.
My blood sugar was 397. I'm going to stop measuring so often. It's starting to frustrate me and I don't need that this early in the process. I'll check it once or twice a week. If by mid to late January it's not better, I'll talk to my doctor about upping my meds.
I had my soy protein shake with my meds. At work I had an omelet with mushrooms, sausage and Swiss cheese. Normally I would have also had four strips of bacon but I skipped it. I was plenty full.
With the office being about half full, the internal cafe, "Club 40" wasn't serving an entree at lunch and they only had salami for meat on the salad bar. (Now and then they have tofu.) So, I walked three blocks to a teriyaki place. The walk back is uphill! It took about twenty minutes. It's not the 30 minutes on the treadmill I should have gotten this morning, but it's more movement than I would have gotten - we'll call it a win. I also got meat and veggies, no sauce, no rice. The portion was larger than I should have had, but in all the meal was a win as well.
Dinner, while low carb, was a bit much. We'll call it the last hurrah. We needed to drop something off to a friend north of Seattle. So, my wife says, why don't we try the buffet at the Tulalip Casino. My mouth went "Sure!" before my brain could kick in. We SOOOO enable each other.
So, the bad news is the portions were rather large. The good news is that I kept the carbs to a minimum. I had the pot roast, some meat balls and a healthy portion of alder wood smoked salmon. I've been wanting more fish in my diet! For dessert, I had a large portion of fruit salad: grapes, pineapple, melon, oranges. I didn't get any bread, rice, pasta, fried chicken or ... dessert!!! And there was plenty there.
Did I mention the desserts? OY!
If I were to go again, I'd do the steamed veggies and the salmon and the fruit.
So, all low carb and avoiding temptations. Need to work on daily exercise and portion control.

Not too bad
Got off to a good start with an half hour on the treadmill.
Checked my blood sugar before I got on, it was 374. After a protein shake and the work out, it was 369 ... interesting ... and scary!
Today was low carb but not low fat!
I had three eggs and four strips of bacon for breakfast. I had three clementines after the eggs.
I think I ate three pounds of grapes while were were playing board games with friends. There's some fiber!
I had some veggies and a low carb veggie dip with a few Wheat Thins for snack.
Dinner was pot roast with steamed broccoli and salad. I plowed into the roast and made something of a pig of myself ... but it was REALLY good and I was quite hungry.
I had water and diet beverages.
I'm off to bed now ... I hope I can drag my ass out in the morning for the treadmill.
